One of the most popular wire meshes are the ones made of titanium. Titanium, a light and yet strong metal is a standard especially when it comes to usages involving exposure to seawater. The metal is stronger than steel but weighs a little bit more than an aluminum metal.

Titanium wires are divided into two categories – “clean” or “black” which refers to whether the lubricants are removed from the wire’s surface. Due to the metal’s tendency to gall, the wire meshes are lubricated by adding lubricants or oxides.
Two types of Titanium:
CP Titanium Grade 1 – UNS R50250 – softest titanium, is resistant to corrosion, has high ductility. Characteristics include high impact toughness, cold forming and welding properties. Applications: Medical, Chemical processing, Architectural and Medical. CP Titanium Grade 2 – UNS R50400 – has moderate strength, is resistant to corrosion and oxidation and has excellent cold forming characteristics. Applications: Automotive, Medical, Hydro Carbon processing, Architectural, Power generation, Automotive and Chemical processing.
